Working on RealPlayer Cloud app for Xbox One

For almost a year, my team and I are working on a an exciting and unique product: RealPlayer Cloud app for Xbox One.

Never heard of RealPlayer Cloud before?

RealPlayer Cloud is an application ecosystem handling your personal videos, bridging gaps and obstacles users are usually having with videos (fighting with different codecs, cables etc.)

RPC is created for personal videos – their upload to cloud, backup and sharing. Basically, it like Dropbox for videos.

My company creates the version of the app for each and every platform capable of playing video. Currently there are apps for PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Roku, Chromecast etc.

RealPlayer Cloud is a free app, so give it a try!

If you like it and need more cloud space (besides the starting 2GB that you get for free), you could eventually buy the additional space.

However, the app itself is a “swiss knife” for videos, so you might find it very useful for “local” use: casting videos from your phone directly to Chromecast or streaming your PC videos to iPad via Wi-Fi.

By the end of the last year, we published the version 1.0 of our Xbox One app.

Programming Xbox One app was quite a challenge.

Xbox One apps are being developed using HTML5 and Javascript. On top of Javascript there are WinJS and XboxJS frameworks.

These are the Javascript MVC frameworks, similar to AngularJS.

Interesting stuff! 🙂
